Has anyone had a BPP (BioPhysical Profile) ultrasound?
I'm scheduled for this at 3pm today, just wondering what they're checking? I've had 2 growth sonos and is "measuring big" but not "scary big". So I wonder what the BPP's all about?

I'm getting my first one next week
for the BPP, they monitor you for 30 min. the measure fetal heart rate, fetal breathing motions, movements, and amniotic fluid levels.
they're basically making sure the placenta is healthy and fully functioning... (making sure the baby is not in distress)
HTH!

I get them every week. Actually the NST is where they hook you up to the monitor to watch the baby's HB, movement, and any contractions. The biophysical is just a sono........they measure the amniotic fluid, check the placenta, check fetal tone, etc. It's a quick thing.

Exactly. The NST takes awhile (well for me anyway since the baby never cooperates ) and the Biophysical is just a quick sono where they are able to estimate the weight.

I have been getting the BPP's & NST's for the last 6 weeks because of my GD.
