loved it! it was just a PIA to keep up with, my roots would come in in 2 weeks time, and they looked gray (even though they were blonde) against the brown.

I went dark though.

I loved it so much I wish it was easier to have and I would have kept it

I went from bleach blonde to black a couple of years ago....and I've been dying my hair black brown since
My natural hair color is dirty blonde, I won't go back to it til I lose 30 lbs!

i wasn't born a blonde, but have been highlighting my hair for so long, that i'be been 'blonde' for so long. Earlier this summer i went brunette and everyone including me LOVED it! It was such a change, but i couldn't have been happier with it. I did it myself {to save money} and dyed it with Clairol Natural medium brown. I like it because it's a cool tone with a reddish tint that cuts down on the brassy/gold tones from being highlighted for so long!

I've been every color under the sun. I am a natural blonde. IMO, it's more trouble going darker because the roots look terrible when they come it. so much lighter and icky. Also, my hair gets way too flat when I go brunette.

I think my natural color is light brown dark blond....I have been highliting my hair for sooooo long just want a change

I have to say- I regretted it.
I didn't realize how dark my natural color truly was.
I cried for days.
It was a semi permanent thank God so I went in the shower and started washing it over and over and over again trying to get it to fade out a bit.

Once it started to fade out and lighten up I liked it better, but I did learn my lesson.

It was just too dark for my skin tone- it was winter and I was very pale and it ended up making me look even paler. I think if I had done some highlights with it it would have been better- but it was just too monochromatic and severe.

Every time I get fed up with my highlights now and the annoying maintainence and the roots and the expense- I remind myself of that incident and suddenly I don't mind the maintainence so much anymore!

I love it, I am now back to blonde because Im pregnant. I made a drastic change.

I've been blonde for as long as I can remember but my natural color is apparently a light brown.
I tried going back to my natural color last year and I soooo regretted it.
Nobody liked it and it made me look older. I'm back to blonde again but it took awhile.

I didn't have a problem with roots because my hair comes in dark and gets light and the brown I would go would be very light. However, it was a good change and brought out my eyes.

My hair is naturally dirty blonde but after years of highlighting it, it got so blonde, almost white. I dyed it to a brunette color 6 years ago & could not be happier. I feel that it gives me a much warmer look. In terms of my hair growing in (roots), it is not so bad..My natural hair is not too light, so you can't see that big of a difference.

I went almost black, I liked it at the time, but when I look back at pictures... YIKES! Not a good look for me.

I have been highlighting for so long, but the past year or so, I have only been doing the highlights on 3/4 of my hair, and doing a single process light brown at my roots. Even with that, most of my hair was blonde because of the years of highlighting.

2 weeks ago I finally took the plunge and went darker. I love it, and everyone else loves it. I had it done at the salon though, I did not attempt it myself. There are not many people that get great results from putting store bought dye over highlighted hair. You can wind up with a greenish tint or orangey color. Its different if you have natural blonde hair than dyed/highlighted blonde hair.

Since my natural color is a very dark brown and I didn't want to go that dark, she put a brown color on my roots, on the underside of my hair where there were no highlights, and what she did for the highlighted parts was alternate highlights and lowlights. After that, she put a dark toner in my hair for a half hour, and almost $400 and 6 hours later, I was done.
