Glucose test
Did you fast before your glucose test?
I am hearing different things....my doctor said not to, others tell me that I should...i'm confused!

My OB and the lab said to fast for the 1hr. so I did.

I haven't had this yet, but you should listen to whatever your doctor tells you to do. Hope it goes well.

do whatever your dr says. I didnt have to for the 1 hr but the night before I ate a chicken sandwhich and fries from wendys  and I failed the 1 hr.
They told me after the fact that I should have watched the carbs the night before. So I would suggest just staying away from carbs.

My doctor said that I don't have to, but he told me that the place I got it done will tell me it needs to be fasting. He said according to the journals you do not need to be fasting. I didn't fast and I was fine.

when i called the lab they said try to come in first thing in the morning before I eat.

nope! with DD and now this pregnancy I was told NOT to fast. this time around I had a 12pm appt, ate a bagel for breakfast and passed with "flying colors". they want to see your normal activity etc. Definitely listen to whichever your Dr. tells you to do!

the lab told me i would have better results if i fasted, so i did - and i passed by the skin of my teeth! (got a 129, 130 is passing.)
