When do you get an internal exam?
I am 23 weeks pregnant and have my monthly check up today.
Should I expect an internal or is it the basic check up I have been getting?
I know as you progress in your pregnancy, you have to get an internal to check your cervix etc...
When should I expect my next internal?
TIA!!!

Mine started at 36/37 weeks last time. You have awhile for them

Not all practitioners do internal exams. Checking to see if you are dilated at before you are in full blown labor is NOT an indicator of when you will start labor. A woman can be fully effaced and 2cm dilated and go like this for a few weeks.

Not that I am looking forward to it.
I read that around this week you may get in external to check cervix.
I hope that was wrong.

36 weeks for me as well for the internals..........which is next week!!!

This is true!!! I have 2 days until my EDD and as of last Monday I had absolutely no progression. At the rate I'm going, this kid is so comfy in there, I'm sure he wouldn't mind staying in there another month.
Mine started at 37 weeks.
