Re: how long is hubby staying home?

I think he wants to take off a week, but it really depends on what day the baby arrives. If he/she arrives on a Wednesday, he'll probably go back to work on Monday.

Hopefully, he'll be able to take 1 week off, but it depends on how busy he is at work.

He didn't with Andrew and won't with this one. I didn't need him home and he had a lot of work to do since he runs the Co.

DH will be out of town on military duty when I am due to deliver. He may miss the birth completely.

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

Just one week, which will be unpaid most likely. he works for a small company & does not get that many sick/vac days. He does however get the last week of the year off, paid, so he will have a second week home with us while I am still on maternity leave. they just won't be back to back....

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

ok, we're in an unusual situation... DH is a grad student and his hours are super-flexible. since he works megahours every week (likely 70+) and his advisor is very nice, he can come and go as he pleases. We haven't discussed how much time he'll take off, but he'll definitely freeze down his cells and become MIA when I go into labor... he likely will only return once I can function alone at home.... 1 week? 2 weeks? I don't know.... I guess it depends upon the circumstances (c-section, any extenuating health situations with either me or scone......)

well he works from home. He is taking "off" for about 5 days. We are using his time for a wedding we have in Key west that June. Since he works form home anyway, its not big deal.

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

DH owns a restaurant so I don't see him staying home for any amount of time. He'll be around in the mornings I guess but I plan on using my mom & MIL for real help

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

DH has his own practice, so he doesn't really get vacation time. I am due over winter break so thankfully, DH will have Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day off...he might just pop into the office to return calls etc on the other days.

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

Well i am very blessed to have my husband home from December to early March. My DH owns his own landscaping company and Dec, January, and Feb are his off months and the beginning of March he starts to prepare for the season and goes back for sure by mid to end of March depending on the weather. Sooo i am a VERY GOOD planner and am due 12/27 which means i get my hunny almost the whole time i am home.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: how long is hubby staying home?

Dh can only take off for the birth and that is it. DH is a teacher and he will only be on his second year.
