Im sure things will get better...These things all seem to get lumped together.
Have your brother and SIL spoken to anyone who has a child with Down Syndrome? Im not sure if you are on Long Island or not but there is the Association for Children with Down Syndrome in Plainview. Perhaps talking to someone over there might make the decision easier for them....They can go and take a tour of the school and see all the kids etc. Most of them have Down Syndrome although there will be kids there with other disabilities. Maybe it will help them to see what Down Syndrome is all about so they can make their decision easier.
FM me if you need any more information...It's a tough decision for them to make they need to do what is best for their family.

Actually they did go there and it made my brother more sure that he doesn't want to have the baby and it gave her even more hope.

Sorry to hear about all this. Take a deep breath and try not to stress; I know, easier said than done.
Regarding the baby having Down's, that is a very challenging and tough decision. It is very personal, and in my opinion, nobody should be judged based on what decision they make. It is so sad that it even has to be made and I am not surprised it is affecting their marriage - they are probably both going through so much emotionally and are unsure of what to do. I am sure they will get through this, it will not be easy, but they will make the decision that they feel is right.
Hope your DH is better w/ his eye
Hang in there, you have a lot of emotions going on as well I'm sure, you are soon having a baby!!

That has to be so hard for them to be on opposite ends of the spectrum regarding the baby. I hope they can come to a decision they both are at peace with.

It's tough b/c we as mothers "know" the baby more than the fathers do....They still have that detachment. I dont think my Ex and his family have ever gotten over the fact that my DD has Down Syndrome. They choose to only fixate on the "normal" aspects of her life. Fortunately children with Down Syndrome are more average than not so it's easy for them...
