Can we have activia yogurt?
It is pasteurized according to their website, so that's not a concern. But I was just wondering regarding the intestinal bacteria and cultures, etc. Has anyone asked the dr or do you just know if it's ok?

You may be right but I am not sure. Does Yo Mommy have live cultures?

Re: Can we have activia yogurt?
oh crap, I was eating Activia for awhile. The only reason I haven't in the last couple of weeks was because it wasn't on sale. Ugh, just when i think I'm doing good I find out I'm not. Should I call my dr and tell them I'd been eating it?

I think it does have live cultures. That's what probiotics are, I believe, and it says it has probiotics. I think any yogurt has live cultures, that's what makes it yogurt. Someone please correct me if I am wrong!!!

Re: Can we have activia yogurt?
This is what Activia's website says. What do you make of it?
Can I consume Activia® or Activia Light if I am pregnant or nursing? Activia® and Activia Light are conventional foods, containing two bacteria used traditionally in yogurt, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, as well as a third, Bifidus Regularis™. Regular Activia® and Activia Light can be consumed by the whole family as part of a healthy diet. However, with any decision involving pregnancy or nursing we recommend you review your diet with your health care provider.
BTW, I had been eating it too but then wondered if I was doing the wrong thing.

Yes, all yogurt has live cultures in it, even the yo mommy. Maybe it is the probiotics that isn't great for us which is in the Activia, who knows, but they do all have live cultures. Too bad if we can't have the Activia cause it does help "regulate" me.
ETA: I just read the Yo Mommy ingredients list, and one of it's live cultures is the Bifidus as well. Hmm...maybe Activia is fine then?

I think it probably is fine, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference b/w YoMommy and Activia. It seems the reason they gear YoMommy to pg women is b/c they have extra folic acid in it, that's all.
Hopefully someone who has asked their dr will answer.
