Hot tub Question
I have been reading that Hot tubs are bad in the 1st trimester. We are in the middle of getting ours working (after being in the house for 3 years, its about time ) but my question is, what about in the 2nd or 3rd trimester? And what if the temp is 100 or less? I am going to the dr. on the 31st, but curiosity was killing me and wanted to get ideas now I am due in Feb. Will it be ok to use in the winter a few times for only about 5-10 minutes?

Re: Hot tub Question
I would ask your doc his opinion but everything I've read says no to hot tubs. In public hot tubs (like at a hotel or whatever) it also says expectant moms shouldn't use.

Re: Hot tub Question
I agree I would ask your doctor, but I would avoid the hot tub throughout all trimesters

Re: Hot tub Question
hot tubs are bad - they raise your temp too quickly, pregnant women overheat much faster than non-pregnant women, and it takes longer for their temps to come down. hot tubs are a no-no.

Re: Hot tub Question
I was told to turn it down below 90, like 85 so it's more like a warm pool. The bubbles still help my backaches!

I asked my doc this question yesterday and he said NO Hot Tubs! [Btw- I'm in my 2nd trimester, but he won't allow them for any part of the pregnancy.]

Re: Hot tub Question
If you lower the temp to under you body temp(90ish)-- you are ok. Personally we have one in the yard and I haven't used it when I am pregnant.
