for those of you that found out the sex, told everyone, and had your shower..
did you find that for your shower, you were bombarded with clothes and not many items off your registry?
a friend of mine had a baby girl and everyone knew the sex before hand.
the shower was adorable! everything pink! however, she noticed she received a ton of baby clothes and not really many registry items..
i guess people saw so many cute girlies clothes and opted to buy that instead..
did this happen to you?

Nope, while I did get lots of clothes, I also got most of the things off my registry

No, I got just about everything off of my registery. I did not put any clothes on my registery though per the advice of the salesgirl and I still got tons of clothes for DS.

I've been to showers where people get all clothes and very little of the necessities!! very annoying. I know people love to buy clothes but you need the things you registered for obviously!

i found out the sex of the baby.. (a girl) and i had a shower and found out that i too got alot of pink clothes and not many registry items. I think people get carried away and buy what they want to buy you instead of what you actually need/want.. hence the purpose of a "registry".

It did not happen to me. But i know someone who had a ton of clothes and they did not get that many things off the registry.

I'm having a girl I received a lot of clothes but i also received alot if not all of the big ticket items off of my registry.

I had a girl and got a TON of clothes. I did get most of the stuff off my registry as there were a handful of VERY generous family members but a lot did opt for clothes I had to run around returning and some I got stuck with and never used. Such a waste

I had two baby showers, one for my son who is now going to be 6 and one for my daughter who is 8 months. I knew the sex for both and I got everything off my registies both times and alot of clothes for both. I think people tend to buy alot of baby clothes for girls because theres so much more to buy!! If you know the sex I think having the gender right clothes is easier...just my opinion. I've been to so many showers that were all yellow and green!

I think this depends more on your "crowd" then whether or not you know the sex of the baby ahead of time. My family likes to buy clothes, but I did get all of the stuff I needed off of my registry as well.
