Lisa, Good Luck with whatever you decide to do.
I'm curious though - LIIVF wouldn't let me start my IVF cycle until my cauterized stub of a tube was removed, and the one that was partially blocked were both removed in order to avoid a potential ectopic.
I'm wondering if that was because of my history of ectopics or something else??
Would you feel more comfortable with the tube out?
wow, really?
I've asked numerous times about having this tube out and my RE didn't feel it was necessary...
I still want it out, but DH is not keen on the idea of surgery...

Re: HSG #3- ***Update***
Absolutely. Dr. Brenner wouldn't let me start my IVF cycle until both tubes (even stubby) were out.
He said that there is a small risk of ectopic with IVF, so I guess given my history he didn't even want to take the chance. So, I had them both taken out in February - lap surgery.
The relief I felt after that surgery was unbelieveable. I mean, we were told after my HSG that if I did get pg naturally it was pretty much a given that it would be ectopic, so I felt so much better knowing that risk was gone.
I kind of knew from my ob/gyn that there was the possibility that the RE would want the tube out before IVF. He said there are lots of dr.'s who, given my history, would insist on it. So, for me, it wasn't a hard decision at all - actually I was glad. Felt like a ton of bricks lifted off me.
I know it's a hard decision - the surgery for me was a breeze. I'm not sure what I would do if I wasn't being told it *had* to come out...

I've already had 2 laps, so I know what to expect...and I want the tube out!!!
Dh already told me he knows I'll ultimately do what I want (smart man ), so I will probably call my RE and discuss
