AF after a M/C

I'm sorry - I'm sure that this has been posted before I'm not having any luck finding the threads...

My question: how long was your 1st cycle after your m/c?

I only had my d&c last Tuesday (6/3) & I thought that it would take a looooong time for everything to go back to normal, but I've had some pretty pronounced O cramps/pains since late yesterday afternoon. Is that even physically possible?!?!? Chat Icon I would have thought that it would take at least another week for that to happen...? Do you think that it's probably something else? I haven't had any m/c related cramping since 6/6 so I don't think it's that, but who knows... Chat Icon

My cycle after the m/c was about 3 days longer than usual.

My AF has been completely off schedule since my D&C in August of 07. I have had about 4 cycles since then - so I really dont even know when I am O'ing.
Good Luck!

Ohh - sweet! Thanks ladies! Chat Icon

I've decided that I want to start trying again ASAP, so I'm hoping that I really am O'ing & that my cycles will go back to norm right away. That means that that we could officially be ttc again at this time next month!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

My history has been weird. I have PCOS and didn't have a regular period for about 8-9 years...I would go months and months and then AF would show up for something like 6-8 hours - not even a whole day!!! I also had some large cysts, fibroids, surgical procedures to treat it all - I was an absolute MESS!

This past year though, I made some changes...between the PCOS & my severe allergies I was on too many meds (9 a day!), so I made a conscious decision to stop taking 6 of those meds (including the Metformin & BCPs) & you know what? My body healed itself!! I've had a regular 28 day cycle & a 2 day AF for about 7 or 8 months now & I got pg the 1st month of trying - it's incredible!

I guess I'm just scared that my body is going to go into shock and "revolt" now, going back to it's old ways. My cramps this week though are giving me some SERIOUS hope though & I'm feeling really positive!! Chat Icon

oh wow.. that is so great that your body went back to normal after stopping the meds.
of course i am not a doctor.. but i feel that if you are still off those meds.. your body WILL go back to it was before.. and you WILL get AF when you should.. i though that my body will go out of whack because of the MC also.. and low and behold she came right on schedule!

my advice.. try not to think about it so much.. it will come.. i dont think stress is good and might prolong it.
this happened to me before .. (when i had a couple scares..before we started trying) and it never came because i was SO stressed.

sorry to babble.. but i hope this helps!

OMG YES!! i was and still obsessive about everything!! i told myself after the MC that i wont be on the boards for a while.. but it made me feel worse for some reason.. so i came back on and started talking to all the girls on the TTC board.. it does help!!
although.. i hate saying this.. but it does hurt to see the pregnancy board, AND still stings a little when i see girls get a BFP.. not that i am not happy for them.. just for personal reasons of what happened..

AND i cant stop researching things over the internet.. the computer is sooooo bad!!

Ugh! I just had a coworker grab me gushing that her daughter-in-law is pg again! On & on & on...Finally, with a forced smile, I asked how far along she is and she said...TWO months!!! WHY she's announcing this to casual acquaintances/coworkers is beyond me...my mom was SWORN to secrecy until 12 weeks. On top of this, all the ladies in her dept. then started asking me when I planned on trying & how it's my turn now. I know that their intentions were good, but I walked away both sad/crying and angry. Whatever. I have to spend this weekend w/2 pg cousins that I ADORE, but I'm not looking forward to it...It's like you said - it's not that I'm not happy for them (I am!)...I just don't want to hear or think about it for my own personal reasons...I'll make it through, though, I'm sure!
