do you really use 4 oz / 5 oz bottles?

I was unsure if we needed a lot of these or if I should just buy 8 or 9 oz only. What did you ladies go with? How long do they use the smaller ones for and can you just go w/ larger ones and fill them up as you need them? As you can tell, I'm an idiot and clueless with this stuff!!

My DS barely used the 4oz holders (we use Playtex nursers) he was getting 6/7oz bottles by the time he was a month old...

My twins NEVER ate more than 5 oz so the small bottles were plenty big..(if you fill the 4oz holders to the top it's 5oz)

With my DD I BF, so I used the 4oz bottles when I was out of the house/at work...she used them until about 8 months!

Hayley used them for about a month and I gave her water in them.

They are good but I wouldn't get too many of them

Like the above poster said they are good for water but I hardly used them.

I used them a lot because Andrew was early and only took a little at a time.

I used them for awhile because they were easier for Kiera to hold then the 8 oz bottles. I felt it was important for her to learn how to hold the bottle and then I just added milk in if needed.

My is 8 weeks old and still uses them. I like the size. They are very convenient. I have 7 of them.

nope, I never used them, I would just get the larger sizes and put in however many ounces you need to

I still use 4 oz dropins....DD is now 5 months she still gets 2 4oz bottles a day...I have also started giving her a bit of water in them on hot days since she dosent know how to use a sippy cup yet!

DD is 4 1/2 months old and we use 6oz bottles. She generally drinks about 4-5oz at a time. She just started drinking 6oz about twice a day so they are still fine until she drinks more.

I still use them when K needs a snack or I give her pedialyte....

WE used them in the beginning all the time. Then he advanced to more per feeding. Then I discovered that the playtex ones actually hold over 5 oz when filled all the way up. So now I use them for water, and sometimes for formula as DS wants to hold his own bottle and the 8oz ones are too much for him to hold by himself.

I would get at least a 3 pack.

DD is 6 months and we use the 4 oz drop ins.

It depends on your DC. Elizabeth takes 6-8oz per feeding so my 92837429 4oz bottles just take up space now.

My girlfriend once said she didn't know why bottles go up to 8oz because not one of her 4 children ever took more than 6oz at a feeding.

I guess you don't really need too many, since you can always put 4oz in an 8oz bottle.

get a newborn starter kit. which should have 4 ounces, 6 ounce and 9 ounce bottles.

My sister's daughter rarely took more than 5 oz at at time, so she pretty much only used the smaller bottles and now that her DD is a year she is coming off of the bottle, so the larger bottles never really got used much.

I think it depends on your child. I plan on getting 6 of each and seeing how it goes before I buy more.
