What would you do?

OK, I'm contemplating switching to Cornell. We have no IVF coverage so its not too much more (although some of those tests can get expensive, but we do have out of network coverage on some of this that they do cover up to 70%). I like where I'm going now, but Cornell does that co-culture thing and I wonder if something like that could help us. And I'm not sure how many more IVF's and disappointments I can handle.

Re: What would you do?

I would at least go to Cornell for a consult. Have you done that yet? See if they think the co-culture will make a difference. Cornell is a great center. One of the best in the country. I considered going there when I moved back to NY but I couldn't deal with the monitoring in the city. It would have been to much for me to go back and forth.

Absolutely go for a consult

My embryo quality is SO much better there...unfortunately I haven't had much luck with implantation

I agree w/ PPs - I would at least go for a consult. If you've done that already I would go back and tell them now you have 2 failed IVFs and what will they do differently than your current RE.
I would also ask your current RE what if anything he plans on doing differently. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Starting next month (July) Cornell's new Garden City branch will be open for monitoring. That is the only way this could be possible for me too.

I'm still waiting for my RE to call me. He called Friday afternoon, but I was not expecting him to call so I missed him. Now getting him to call back seems to be really difficult.

After a failed IVF, I would probably seriously consider them as well considering their exceptional success rates. GL!

I'm considering it too since it's now in Garden City. My cousin got pregnant there after 3 IVFs. The first ended up with a chemical, the second didn't implant and the third was a charm.

Re: What would you do?

After a 4 failed iuis, 1 failed IVF and 1 failed FET I am done with my current place. I made an appt. at Cornell for my DH. Unfortunately they can't get him in until the end of August!
I've also made another appt. for myself at New Hope. I think you should move on too.

Re: What would you do?

BA, my heart breaks that you even have to go through this and make this decision. It truly is not fair. That said, I do agree with the other girls that you should at least consult with Cornell and switch if it goes well. I am willing to do 1 more IVF with LI-IVF but would definitely consider switching to Cornell, if god forbid, that fails too.

Re: What would you do?

OK, made the appointment for July 24th with Dr. Davis. I think he's the one I should see. I know he deals with older women, with high FSH and poor egg quality.

Re: What would you do?

I have my little miracle on board from Cornell and could not tell you but the best things about them!!! I was given 0 chance by NYU and RMA of NY...well here I am at almost 15weeks....

Glad you are meeting with Dr D. Dr Davis is the best for your issues!! He is the co-director of the center and one of the best (if not the best) REs in the country!!!
