What if it doesn't happen ?

Do you ever think "what if this baby thing just doesn't work out ?"
I always assumed I would have children, 2 miscarriages later I'm less than optimistic. I'm Irish, every female family member has more children than I can count. I never thought I would have issues.

I dont think I would do adoption, but then will we become the "crazy childless couple with too many pets?"

I'm obviously having a glass is half full kind of day. I should step away from the computer now and go outside.

I didn't start thinking about that till last cycle when I thought I just couldn't do this anymore.

My goal is to exhaust every option available before turning to adoption.

I think about this all the time. I am 41, my time is limited. When I think about it, I just tell myself it will happen, because after the MCs and not being able to get pg for a long time, I still feel like it is going to happen!

I try not to think that way, but it's always there in the back of my head. I know if nothing happens I will eventually have to face this and deal with it, but I'm not ready yet.

. Your time will come, just keep the faith high. I'm scared and obsess over the stuggle, but not of never being able to have children.

We already have a child, but as we head into our 6th month with a m/c in there, I've been thinking that I should come to terms with the possibility of her being an only child, at least for a while. I'm not 100% certain if my insurance would cover IUI & I know for certain it wouldn't cover IVF & there is no chance we could afford that out of pocket (at least until I graduate in a couple of years). So basically, if it doesn't happen naturally for some reason, depending on our insurance, we may have to give up for a while. I got pregnant once in the 5 months we've tried. I'm starting to feel like if it doesn't happen again this cycle, it's never going to.

My DH and I are 100% adopting no matter if we have our own children or not... we just feel its something that we want to do...

Ideally I would love to have our own children first, but if I can't, I have fully prepared myself a long time ago (due to multipal surgeries I needed to have down under ) that me not physically having children doesn't mean that DH and I cannot be parents...

I am always trying not to think of the "it won't happen" factor but I can't help it!

I promised myself that I would not get ahead of myself and I would try every way possible for DH and I to make a baby. Whatever it takes!! I will go through any invasive tests as will DH.

Adoption is an option for us if none of the above works. I just need to do more research on it including costs.

Thanks ladies for supporting me in my weak moment!!!

It makes me feel better that I'm not alone. Everytime I see a BFP of one of us girls it gives me hope as well.

Yeah I do too. Even though we foolishly haven't actively been trying because we were have supposed to have moved out of state by now and I didn't want to move being pregnant. I'm so stressed and depressed.

I know how you feel, but do your best not to defeat yourself.



My husband and I will absolutely adopt if we cannot have a baby the old fashioned way. Two of my nieces are adopted and I absolutely adore them.

i try not to think of it. but it has been on my mind when i lost my baby ... i just keep thinking it will happen again..

I was so worried about this before I had DS and then again when trying for #2. Now that I am PG with #2 all I can think about is that something bad is going to happen with this baby. I worry all the time about everything.
