I just got back from our 1st fertility doctor visit........
and DH and I have to do IVF. I go june 17th for for hystergram to see if my fallopian tubes are working ok before we start anything. i also have to go for a ton of blood work on the 3rd day of AF when she comes.( im sure a lot of you had to do this also???)
Back history....... Dh had testical cancer and had to under go chemo. so we are dealing with male infertilty.
Then i have to go back again on June 23rd to start i think he said some meds. He threw so much info at me in an hour i seriously forgot it all. DH remembers everything lol i just wanted to know if anyone could please help me out durning my 1st cycle when i start with questions i know im going to have. and if anyone can give me a heads up on what i should expect for my up coming cycle. im so scared and nervous mostly to give my self injections!!!

your clinic will either have you come to a class or teach you step by step. Its alot of info, but take things one step at a time

oh man im already overwhelmed!! i just dont do pain well AT ALL!!!! lol im a baby
anyone know about the HSG - Hysterosalpingogram?? i heard it REALLY hurts??

Sorry to hear about your DH
this board has tons of info, just do searches and you should fine what you need.
Also as you get closer to your start date, you'll probably even have some cycle buddies

yeah im searching stuff now.... to much to search!!! that will be good to have a cycle buddy so i have someone to help me lol

Good Luck to you !....Yes, you will be going in for a whole lot of bloodwork throughout various times in your cycle, as well as sono's......For me, the HSG wasn't pleasant, I'll be honest but tolerable and VERY quick...When its done- its done though...Lots of girls on here have had very little discomfort with it- hope you do as well ...The injections (for me anyway) are so much more intimadating than they really are...You'll see what I mean once you do them- they really aren't a big deal at all and I actually preferred them to taking Clomid believe it or not...Again good luck and there are very knowledgable ladies on this board who can help you with anything you need !

Ask questions as you go along and don't worry too much. It's all very overwhelming in the beginning, but as you go through your cycle it makes sense.
I had no trouble with my HSG, take a few Advil beforehand as a security and remember - it's only once!

Best of Luck! You can easily get overwhelmed, but before you know it you'll be cycling! As for the Pain, drawing blood from your arm is far more painful then the injections! You'll be fine!

You can do a search under my name for my IVF diary. I had all the tests before so I don't talk much about that but I do talk alot aboutr the process. Difference for you is you will probably be put on birth control to put your cycle in line with everyone else cycling then. I didn't have to do that since my natural cycle happened to coincide. Just wanted to wish you luck. I'm going through an IVF cycle right now. The first 2 weeks are jam packed with stuff but once you get through that its just waiting. We are all happy to answer any questions you have. Odds are someone has gone through it.
