Washing of sample and IUI

I am going for my first IUI and was wondering how long the whole process takes. I know the procedure itself isn't long, but how long does it take to prepare DH's sample?

I will be going to LI IVF.

I believe that they can prepare it pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure you go in for the IUI about an hour after your DH drops it off.

Good luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

At my last RE when we did our IUI we had to drop it off at Stony Brook hospital, wait almost an hour and then drive it in a thermos to our RE's office Chat Icon The andrologist called my RE's office when we left to let them know we were on our way (not even a 5 min drive) and when we got there we cut the line and went right in to do it... so I agree w/ PP, about an hour total. About a half hour to wash the sample and the actual IUI is about 5 seconds. Best of luck!

I only did IUI's at RSNY, they always said 1 hour but I always waited at least 2 and sometimes up to 4. BUt I dont think that had anything to do with the washing, but their poorly organized office.
