Anyone else scared of the trailer for the movie "THE STRANGERS"?
this trailer freaks me out. it looks scary and those people in those masks-creepy!
is it true that this was based on true events like the commercial says?

I know! i googled it but didn't find anything about the "true events" BUT i was too afraid to visit the official website b/c i thought i would have to watch the trailer! what a baby i am!

I found this info on a website:
I heard speculation it was based on several different events including the Manson murders and the name Hoyt might have come from Barbara Hoyt whom was part of th Manson murders.

Yes, saw this. For the record, I'm sure many many movies are 'inspried by true events!'. There is a difference between 'based' and 'inspired' on/by true events.

I saw the trailer-it looks so scary and yet I thought the ad tried to make it seem funny-scary not scary-scary but I definitely won't be able to watch it.
