I got this one from Sony. It came highly recommended in Baby Bargains and also by a few friends.

I chose this one also.

Summer Infant Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor

We have this one and it's excellent!!

We have this one and we absolutely love it. Even though we have an apt and her room is right next door...when she is making sounds it's nice to look at the video and see if she's really awake or just making noise and not even have to get out of bed.

This is the one I had. When I registered, I was concerned about not putting pricey items on, like a video monitor and figured I would not need it with a ranch style home. Looking back now, I would have registered for a video monitor even with a ranch because there are times when the baby cries, but is not really awake...or when I transitioned my son from a crib to a bed, I wanted to see how he was doing without peeking in...JMO.

We actually aren't registering for one, we have an apartment and will always be right next to the baby

Just wanted to say from a BTDT mom in a small NYC apt, you still probably want one. I have both the Summer Video Handheld and the Angelcare (I'm a little obsessive Chat Icon ) but I thought the same as you before and wound up with two! If you're behind closed doors, doesnt matter how big your apt is, being able to see the baby is a HUGE help!

we have the Sony one and we LOVE it. Not too expensive and it works perfectly with very little interference.

I have the summer video monitor and it is awesome.. I dont get out of bed just watch on the screen it is so wonderful i recommend it.

Me too! I actually live in an apt and thought I wouldn't need it but my SIL convinced me to get it. Right now it is one of my favorite baby purchases! I love that I don't have to tip toe in her room to check to see if she is awake or sleeping when she is grunting.
Right now she is sleeping in the PNP in our room and I use it 10 feet away while I am lying in bed (no volume, just picture). Maybe it's lazy but it gives me piece of mind and it is soooo much fun to watch "Becca-vision" Chat Icon

I have this one and love love love it! I really love the sound activation mode. So you don't hear all the "hum" of the room, white noise or loud cars passing by, etc. It is sensitive enough to pick up any little sound by the baby but blocks out the background noise.

ETA: I have lately been thinking of getting a video one for when we put her into a bed so I can see what she's doing in there! Chat Icon Then we can use this one for the {someday} new baby.

We have no need for a video monitor. Our room is right next door to where the nursery is. As large as our apartment is, no point will be too far away from her.

that's the one we got. DS's room is right across from ours. i wasn't even going to get a monitor but i decided to for when i am downstairs. i have no need for a video one.
