Acupuncture?
So, I am sort of considering fertility acupuncture in the next few months if need be. Has anyone had an experience with this? I am really into holistic treatments, herbs and other natural alternatives not just for fertility purposes but for better health altogether.
There is this one specific acupuncturist that I am interested in talking with. Based on the reviews from his patients, they have all gotten preggo in the first cycle of his treatments.
Your thoughts?

Re: Acupuncture?
I've gotten pregnant twice, once last year, and then in March after doing IVF. Both pregnancies didn't take. I did not do acupuncture
I'm currently in the process of my next IVF cycle and have just started acupuncture in the hopes it gives me a BFP that actually sticks.

Re: Acupuncture?
I don't feel any different really after my treatments. Although I did tell the guy that does my acupuncture on Monday, I was feeling a cold coming on, and my throat was so sore I couldn't swallow. Lo and behold, when I woke up yesterday morning, I felt 100%!

Wow--that's great stuff. Good to know!
I will be heavily considering it if the next 2 cycles are unsuccessful.
thanks for your input.

Re: Acupuncture?
I just wanted to add that my friend had a hard time getting pregnant, she tried for awhile, she finally decided just to try the acupuncture as a last chance kinda thing and it worked, she got pregnant right after that. Good luck!

Re: Acupuncture?
there's another 'alternative' therapy that is supposed to be good.
reiki - the girl who cuts my hair is 43...had issues all through her 30's getting pregnant. went to a few reiki sessions where they focused on birthing areas (uterus, stomach, etc) and she got pregnant right away....
it can't hurt...

Well based on this acupuncturist in NYC - his name is Dr. Andrew Pacholyk, they recommend once a week for 5 weeks (or until you become preggo).
If you go to citysearch.com, there is a whole group of reviews on his practice. All positive. And..he accepts most insurance plans :)
Might not be a bad idea..if anything it's good for your body anyway right?
GL!

Re: Acupuncture?
I've been going for a little while. You need to see someone who specializes in fertility treatments. I had gone to two acu's prior to my current one, who both told me they had experience. And I find out they really didn't. I did a lot of research online. And now i go to a specialist and I can see the difference. I've been going to my new one for 7-8 weeks. I just did a failed IVF cycle, but you should really be going to acu for about 3 months for it to have any effect. They move the blood around. A lot of stagnant blood in the uterus. It relaxes you. I come out of there feeling great, like I had an hour massage. They evaluate you and your protocol is based on your body. She also put me on some supplements. Can I see a change...no, but I feel more calm. I really believe in it.

Thank you so much for the information. I have always been very much into holistic practices. I do meditation yoga regularly, take herbal supplements...etc. If you don't mind me asking, who is your specialist? Do they take insurance? How did you find her/him?
Good luck! TIA!
