I don't mean to stir anything up here, but when I first heard about the Myanmar disaster I couldn't help to think of 911
We lost a little under 3,000 people that day and look how it affected us...I can't even imagine how those poor people feel Chat Icon

I am truly disappointed at the government of Myanmar... They think the "ouside world" is bad and are making it hard for the rest of the world to help their citizens. It is very very sad.

I think it's sad that this isn't even BIGGER news.
There is a military that wan't letting anyone in to help originally and that is just unfair.

and there are still a lot of places unaccessible by help...

Re: 100,000 may have died in cyclone

I have actually been there and if you could see the life style they live, it explains how so many died. I wouldn't say it was even a third world country, it was even worse than that. Think huts in the country with no floors.

I am so very sad for them- all the people I met there were so kind and gentle. I have watercolor paintings that I bought from a man there for $1. I often think of him- he was such a wonderful person. I hope he is ok but since he lived near the most devestated area, I doubt it. Chat Icon

I think it is dispicable that their own Gov't is not allowing anyone in to help! they only allowed 1 UN plane to land so far and there is SO MUCH aid from around the world waiting in Thailand. Chat Icon
