Wedding related...registering

Where did you register? Where do you think had the best polices (returns/exchanges etc)?? (I'm on LIW but don't post there too much b/c we're haivng a destination wedding-plus I figured I may find people that already had good/bad registering experiences on here!)

Thanks.

Re: Wedding related...registering

We did fortunoff for china and stemware stuff like that.

Target for stuff everyone could afford plus it was easy for the out of state people who didn't have a fortunoff.

Bed Bath and Beyond is good too

Bed bath and beyond was great and had a great return policy, if you returned something that was bought on your registry you got cash back.

The also always have the 20% off coupons that your guests can use.

Target I heard has a really bad return policy and without a receipt or gift receipt you can only return 1 item a year. I am not sure how true this is, but I remember someone saying that

Fortunoff for china, stemware, flatware, everyday dishes, pot/pans, small appliances, luggage and some other random pieces.

LNT for bedding, towels and some other kitchen gadgets.

Pottery Barn - towels and some funky stuff like a bar set, serving pieces, table linens. More "decorating" type of things.

All three have great return policies.

Re: Wedding related...registering

I registered at BBB and Fortunoff. If I had it to do over again I would have registered at BBB and Macys.

May I ask why Macy's? I've been thinking of Macy's or Bloomingdales along with Crate and Barrel. FI has a thing against walking into Fortunoffs. Big baby.Chat Icon

Crate & Barrel

Re: Wedding related...registering

Fortunoff for the china, crystal, flatware, towels, pots, knives.

Crate & Barrel for every day dishes, glasses, etc.

Great experiences with both places, good range in prices so it was affordable for everyone.

Re: Wedding related...registering

BBB for the everyday house stuff

Macy's for the fine stemware (I didn't need dishware)

I chose these 2 b/c Macy's is everywhere and I have family in CA, OH, FL, etc.

Re: Wedding related...registering

We registered at Fortunoff's only (7 years ago)...

Warning about Target - they changed their return policy as of January 1 - to to their website and check it out. Even if someone is off your registry, you need a gift receipt...that means counting on guests to get it, and remember to give it to you!

BBB - gives you cash back for returns, if it's on your registry.

Re: Wedding related...registering

Fortunoff, Bloomingdales, & Crate & Barrel. I was very happy with all of them. I think I may have done Pottery Barn instead of C&B because I love their stuff and wouldn't do 4 places.
