A bamboo plant is supposed to be good luck. You can send him something like that! If you did, make sure you wrap a red ribbon on it, that "ignites" the luck!

We sent my cousin some sort of potted tree when he opened a bar. It didn't work out though, so I'm not sure if it's good luck, maybe you should stick with the bamboo!
