I put my wedding dress....
..... into a spacebag today. Terrible, I know. We were finishing  closet clean-out today and the dress is still hanging almost 3 years later. I had it cleaned but not preserved..
Into a spacebag it went. I feel like I just put down my favorite pet

That is a better thing than what I did. I just put it in a large black garbage bag----and it's in the basement. This too was done when preparing for DS' arrival!
