Just need to vent..
We had another mid-day robbery on the block. Making it the fourth one in the past three months. This time my neighbors alarm sounded and the person ran leaving the back door open. We have an alarm, but my biggest fear is my puppy getting loose. I'm literally making myself sick over something I cannot control.

I understand what you are saying...I would worry about that too.
Is your puppy microchipped? Do you crate your pup when you aren't home?
Another thing to do is, keep blinds shut, keep a tv on that can maybe be seen flickering through a curtain/shade so an intruder thinks someone is home, keep a light on (but again, don't let the inside be visible to an intruder, from the outside).

ITA with all of this. I freak that my dogs will get out. My house was robbed, but somehow none of the dogs were let loose. It was truly a miracle that all 5 of them stayed in the house.
