Really disturbed with this ad

So, we were watching one of the kids channels with DS and they have this ad about "fur friend". Two young girls have a small dog furry friend toy that can move their head and comes with a shoulder bag for the dog.

I am not sure this is the image I want kids to be introduced to animals used as "accessories" just like Paris Hilton.

I saw that, and I also saw something with the American Girl collection. I am hoping since I am raising DS in a house with rescue dogs and intend to continue to work with rescue that he will learn by example, and will at those kinds of things.

I think for the kids who are not exposed to it though, they (the mill industry) are beside themselves knowing that they could be "raising" a whole new generation of Paris Hiltons to seel their over-bred, unhealthy and over-priced dogs to. "Start them young."
