When I am relaying something that happened to me and it happened to you too only 20x's worse
( I am talking about people who do this all the time, not a random occurrence)
I have a friend that does this...or there are times I'll tell her a story and she'll say "That's just like what happened to me with....blah blah blah" and proceed to tell a totally unrelated story. It's like she just has to make it about her. So aggravating.
I just posted about this this morning!! I HATE THIS!!! Drives me nuts!

When you say thank you or excuse me to someone and rather than say you're welcome, or anytime or okay, they make the sound "mm hmm"
Makes me want to scream!

People who don't say thank you for simple things - like mentioned above when you hold a door open for them or whatever. I'll always say "YOU'RE WELCOME" lol. Sometimes they'll realize and say, "oh thank you" and it makes me feel better.
Or people who don't say Excuse me. Like you bump into me, and don't say anything - that IRKS me to no end. But if you bump into me, even half knock me down, but you say "sorry" or "excuse me" - I'm perfectly fine and not annoyed.

People who chat on their cell phones at the nail salon (or any salon) the whole time they are there. I'm there to relax...not hear your conversation. I'm not so much bothered by brief phone calls, but some of these women get on their cells and babble incessantly about nothing.

I can't stand that or the ladies that yap away to everyone the whole time they are in the salon. I am glad it's like a visit for you but really, shut up.
I also can't stand when people say you shouldn't feel what you are feeling or downplay something you are going through by saying "it could be worse". Yes, it could be but that doesn't mean something is not bad enough.

Re: Pet Peeves
I have a new one as a mom. When I'm trying to open the door and push the stroller through, don't just stand behind me. Or worse yet, race around me to the next door, so you can get where you need to get.
Before I was a parent, if I saw a mom struggling, I'd lend a hand with the door. I'm not saying run to help me, but dont' stand behind me on your damn cell phone and wait for me to open the door for you. (that's directed at you, miss old navy)

I used to have a ton but I stopped caring. But I HATE it when my DH relays a story that I told him to other people. Especially when he pretended not to be listening when I TOLD it!

Re: Pet Peeves
1. People that speak in baby voices. A girl I know does not eat lunch she eats "wunch".
2. Using foreign terms and pretending it is normal. A girl I worked with did a semester in England. She was away for 2 months and lived with all Americans. When she came back she referred to her house as her flat and the bathroom as the loo. Add on the fake accent I thought I was working with Madonna.
3. Cars with 1 license plate. I don't know why but it annoys me.
4. The denim suit. A denim jacket worn with jeans. It looks like a poor man going on a job interview.

Re: Pet Peeves
when there are six elevators that come pretty regularly and someone decides, just as the door is 3 quarters closed to stick their hand in to make it open again - then it takes a minute for the door to close back up again

Re: Pet Peeves
OMG all these things listed are driving me nuts!!!!
I hate when people come in the middle of conversations and dont know the whole story and judge based on what was said last.
The other day I was talking to a coworker and she told me how bad she felt about something and I said I agreed, I felt the same. Then another coworker came by and said to ME oh you think its just you that feels that way. Meanwhile, all I was doing was agreeing with coworker #1.

Re: Pet Peeves
ya know, I don't really have too many peeves anymore.... The things listed above don't really bother me... I just tune them out. (people talking loud, talking on cellphones, dopey driving)
the one thing I cannot tune out is a person constantly tapping..... unfortunately, DH is a tapper.... he's really got to stop. he'll send me over the edge someday.

Re: Pet Peeves
When people assume that there time is more valuable than mine.
For example - the wonderful person that speeds up to squeeze between my car and the one that is 1 car length ahead of me - instead of going behind me where there is plenty of room. Whoa.. saved a full 2.5 seconds there...
Or the lady who cut me on line at Petco yesterday. I couldn't even believe that she came out of an aisle and just jumped right ahead of me. I would have said something - but i had my 4 year old with me and decided she wasn't worth the effort.
