Re: Am I being unreasonable?

register for what you want. It's their choice to not want to know, but it's your registry!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Register for whatever you want! It's OK if they want to be surprised, but that should NOT affect how you register, decorate, etc.

I agree 100%!!

P.S... this idea is so dumb by the way (their idea that is). I mean someone is bound to slip up at some point! Chat Icon

Re: Am I being unreasonable?

I had people say that they didn't want to know both times. It didn't really bother me. I told whoever I wanted and if they found out by accident then there was nothing I could do.

Some people really enjoy the surprise. I wouldn't take is personal - rather they just want to add to their excitement. Don't let that stop you from telling whoever else you want though.

Re: Am I being unreasonable?

It is your decision and I know some of the older people in my family thought we were ruining it for everybody by finding out the sex.

I would register for what you want!

Re: Am I being unreasonable?

I HATE when people act like that. What is the big deal if they know?? It's not THEIR baby. They may not love the idea that you guys found out (some people are really odd about it) but TOO BAD.

I would totally be on the phone with MIL and say "Ooooh he is kicking me so hard, he won't stop" lol. They are bound to find out. Someone will slip, or they'll see gender specific things...

Sorry you are going through this annoyance!

Um, I think THEY are wrong, honestly. It's your baby, your decision. I say register for what you want to register for-- why should you compromise just to keep the secret from them? If they don't want to know, they don't have to look, they can buy things another way.

Sorry you're going through that! Chat Icon

I agree! Chat Icon

I agree too! it's so silly of them to do this!

Re: Am I being unreasonable?

don't let it affect your registry...

if they don't want to know, just tell them you're game, but don't check out the registry.

heheheh, the thought of missing your shower out of stuborness will likely change their minds Chat Icon
