Acne be gone

Since becoming PG my skin has become a nightmare. I never had a problem before, and now I have neck, chest and back acne pretty bad. Anyone else suffering or have a product they can recommend? I don't want to wear turtlenecks all the way to July.Chat Icon

Re: Acne be gone

My skin has been terrible too. I have been breaking out mostly on my chest, so I wear high cut sweaters or turtle necks. I also have to keep my scarf on all day. I haven't found anything that can clear it up...and I've tried just about everything. My SIL had the same problem when she was pregnant and she said it goes away in the 2nd trimester. Lets pray! Re: Acne be gone

I highly recommend the Acne Free system for your face...it's just like Proactiv only it's half the price and you can get it at Costco or Walgreen's. For back/chest acne, Neutrogena makes a great body wash for acne-prone skin. Good luck and hang in there!

Re: Acne be gone

I had really bad back acne with I was preggo w/Hayley. I had it til she was born. I ended up going to the Dermotologist and he gave me a prescription that was safe for me to use.

My face has been getting lots of pimples, nothing really helps because when I get them cleared up, new ones show up Chat Icon

Re: Acne be gone

I've got it too on my chest and back. DH and I went away on vacation about 2 weeks ago and the sun really cleared them up, but now we're back in freezing weather and guess what?! They're back!

I hear pro-active is good. I may actually try it.

Re: Acne be gone

I'm having the same problems, but I heard not to use salicylic acid when pregnant (which is in Proactiv repairing lotion and actually some foundations, scrubs and other products).

I used Proactiv all the time, but recently stopped cause I wasn't sure about the effects. My skin is totally suffering from not using it! Chat Icon

Here's an article I read on it:

http://www.babycenter.com/0_safe-skin-care-during-pregnancy_1490031.bc

I'm definitely going to ask the doctor at my next appointment.

ETA: To clarify my post -- the Proactiv repairing lotion has the salicylic acid, not the renewing cleanser. The Proactiv cleanser has benzoyl peroxide which seems to be safe during pregnancy. So happy now and thanks to lc214 for the info. I'm definitely starting to use the Proactiv cleanser again. Thanks!!!

Re: Acne be gone

I had terrible acne on my neck and forehead during my pg with DD. I used and loved tea tree oil.

Re: Acne be gone

apricot scrub and prescription acne meds are the only thing that helps me - and even then my skin isn't as clear as it was before i got PG.

Re: Acne be gone

I've been using proactive wash on my face. It doesn't have salyic acid - only benzoil peroxide. The repair lotion has the acid so I haven't been using that.
