Sh!thead...when the Mom was asked how you pronounce it she said -
Shy-theed.

Someone called me at the work the other day looking for Tiger fabric. I told her I'd call her back and said to her what's your name...
She replied TIGER EYES
I said yes the fabric has tiger eyes on it and she said NO that's my name!!

When I used to sub, there was a boy named Peaceful. He had long, curly, blond hair to his waist- so based on his looks and his name, I didn't know if he was a he or a she...

I also had a student with the Japanese name "Wackao" which she said was pronounced as Wacko. That was weird calling her wacko every time...

It's funny. A lot of the names posted as "unique," while not common to me, don't seem unusual. I grew up in a very Irish neighborhood, so names like Siobhan or Seamus or Eamonn are as common here as Elizabeth or Diane or Kevin. I also went to a public school in Queens, where names like Chi-Hee or Chantip weren't looked on as different because we had so many ethnicities.
But, I'll add one anyway. DH went to college with a girl named Sunshine Day. Think her parents were Brady Bunch fans?
OMG, I went to high school with a girl named Sunshine Day! Her middle name was Every... Honestly... Poor girl.

I used to work with a woman named Princess and one named Brittania (which I think is kind of pretty, but the Brits constantly made fun of her! Behind her back of course, poor woman!)

Okay, I went to a kids birthday party yesterday and I met Xyla-Ray (her mother told me that they named her that so it could be shortened to X-Ray if she so desired.) It was a pirate themed party and she was dressed as a beautiful little girl pirate in a ripped black lace dress with purple hat and black and purple cowboy boots. I also saw Biba, who I haven't seen since she was just born. She is gorgeous. Her mother named her after Biba, the 70's London Fashion house. I totally also forgot to say that Wynter was also in attendance at the party with her flowing head of red hair!
