a few tax question
We are in a payment plan with both the state and federal taxes will they take our refund this year (if we get one)
second question I just moved to ga in july and DH still lived in NY till early this year is it true I can file for head of household and he can file with the house
any information would be helpful

1. generally yes. the government will not issue a refund check if you have any taxes outstanding.
2. no, you can not file as head of household if you were married. your choices are married filing jointly, or married filing separately. you will have to deal with 2 state returns, if you resided in GA and your hubby resided in NY. your state taxes will get a little tricky, but you generally get a credit for taxes paid to other states, so you are not taxed twice on the same income.
