Why pregnant women should not cook....

So I am cooking today and I splattered sauce on me, but I could not see where....BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE BELOW MY BELLY BUTTON!

Thank god for my DH, who laughingly wiped it off of me.

I probably shouldn't laugh because I am sure it will happen to me later but that was actually funny. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Why pregnant women should not cook....

yeah, I agree with you on that premise.... I'm only in my first trimester, and have such a sensitive sense of smell that I literally can't cook anything....

I can't wait to be at your stage and 'feed' the baby with a splash of sauce while cooking Chat Icon

Yeah, I was laughing too!

I am usually a neat person when I cook and eat, now I am a mess! When I am in public I need to eat slowly, so not to drop things on my belly.Chat Icon

I drop things on my belly on a daily basis these days... all due to my 10 thumbs .. my hands are so clumsy

I do too. I never realized what a messy eater I was until there was something there to "catch" all the crumbs and food droppings.

You don't even know how many shirts I have ruined already with dropped sauce, ketchup, you name it.

I can no longer lean into the table to reach my plate- so I am a full on spiller.
I have ruined 3 shirts making chili, because I'm just too close to the stove.
I can't even see my belly button. Chat Icon
Meanwhile I own 3 aprons that I never remember to wear.

Dude, I was JUST about to say the same thing! I haven't ruined any clothing yet, but there have been splatters and spillage, and I have 3 nicely folded never worn aprons! One is a hot skinny chick's body in lingerie (obviously a gift at my bridal shower) that I really should consider wearing, if anything just to make DH laugh his arse off.

True - I can't see below my nips. My chest forms a lovely shelf on which I like to catch falling pieces from my meal.

Lauren - just wait til I start BF'ing! Chat Icon

I always end up having crumbs collect on my belly or something drop on it and leave a stain. Classy!

Re: Why pregnant women should not cook....

Sooo funny that you mention that. The other day I baked cup cakes. And DH was pointing to the bottom of my shirt, only I thought he was pointing to my pants. So I figured he was telling me to pull them up.

Only then, when I lifted my shirt to pull up my pants did I realize I had chocolate cake batter on the bottom of my shirt! I'm only 18 weeks I'd hate to see what gets on there at 36 weeks! Chat Icon
