did anyone spot continually
in the early weeks of their pregnancy? I've been spotting every day since last friday. I've been checked by the dr. early in the week they said my cervix is closed and it looks like old blood. I have my sono coming up on Tuesday, I just feel like this is not normal for it to happen every day! Just wondering if anyone had this issueof it being continual. I can't wait to get this sono,

Re: did anyone spot continually
there were a lot of spotting issues in this forum in the beginning of the week.... I believe 3 people began threads (me being one of them).
At any rate, the general consensus was that it isn't a great sign, but it's not always something bad. Many moms spot (especially a light brown or pink mild spotting) for a while and go on to have perfectly healthy kids. Red is a bit more concerning. Everyone agreed that it should be monitored by your Dr. As long as you don't get a heavy period-like amount along with strong cramping, things are likely ok.....
it's very scary though....

I wouldn't say that it's not a great sign........I think there is more truth to that if you're spotting red blood or passing clots. After I started spotting yesterday (a little brown only) I went online, read my books, and called the doctor and all said that spotting throughout the first trimester is quite normal and common. So long as it's brown it is probably old blood and nothing to worry about.
Like you said though.....any red blood particularly with heavy cramping or pain on one side could be cause for alarm and you should call your dr. asap. Like everyone said in my post from the other day.....when in doubt call your dr.

Call the doctor to put your mind at ease. I had a similiar expierence but just call the doc to make sure. Spotting means something different for everyone.
