IF you wanna get out of the house one night, why not come over and visit me? Sounds like the perfect time to do it and we have been talking about it for years

I'd love to!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Leaving your significant other

I could do it temporarily.

It was discussed at one point in our marriage, so it's already been established who would leave & where they would go.

Neither of us would live with my ILs. They live in FL & in a retirement community.

Re: Leaving your significant other

I think it would depend on the situation, but I can't imagine doing it. It'd be much easier to just go to my parents house. (No way would I move to my ILs)

I think it would depend on the situation. If we can be civil to each other and parent our child together, I'd stay with him. Otherwise, my IL's would welcome me and DD with open arms.

Re: Leaving your significant other

I'd suffer

Well.. When I came to NY I lived with this bf since I didn't have a place to stay. When we broke up I had to live there another two months. I ended up sleeping on the floor with my laundry bag as my pillow and my robe as a blankie. I REFUSED to sleep in bed with him.

*Shrug*

In Texas I lived out of my car for a few months even though I was allowed in my own home, I wasn't allowed to come in after 9pm so I usually ended up sleeping in a parking lot with my pager set to wake me up to go home in the morning.

Right now, if my hubby and I broke up I'd have to live here until I could find better means, which could take up to two months.

Re: Leaving your significant other

luckliy I wouldn't have to do any of those things

1- my Grandma lives 5 minutes away

2- my In laws live in another state- and I would move in with my Dad before them- and my Dad has 2 places in FL now (long Story- but I could live in 1 for a while if I felt the need to leave NY)

3- I can afford to live on my own- in my current aparment if I felt the need to keep a 3 bedroom or I could move into a smaller, less expensive place

i think i would have to do it, until i was able to find a better job and therefore be able to afford an apartment.

Re: Leaving your significant other

I don't think I could do it. I think it would be too hard for both of us. While I could sleep in our guest room, I don't think I would want to be in a place that reminded me of us.

You know, my instinct would be to say heck no, but I know of at least 3 couples who lived like that, not counting people on here.

One of them was in that situation for years, and although her daughter was trying to figure something out, she ended up living with her ex (legally divorced) until he passed away, even though he was bring other women home all the time.

Re: Leaving your significant other

I don't think we could do that. Luckily I can afford to live on my own but if I could not, I'd get a roommate. The IL's are not an option since they live in SC. I do think they would have me though depending on the circumstances of the break up.
