Opinion
My husband's friend invited us to a party on New Years Eve, in Manhattan...I have no desire to go. Partially cause i'm not comfortable with us driving to/from manhattan on the EVE....Am I overreacting? I am extra paranoid with stuff now that i've got my baby in my belly. I'd just rather stay local and be safe.

Re: Opinion
You aren't being paranoid. I am not a big NYE person anyway.... and the thought of being in a car driving, early in the morning, with others who may have been drinking and are stupid enough to drive makes me uneasy. And ever since becoming pregnant, I too have become more "sensitive" when it comes to driving in general - I prefer using that word instead of paranoid . Needless to stay, we are staying at home this year.

We're not going anywhere for the exact reasons you stated.
Enjoy your time alone if you decide to stay home...you won't have that for a while!!

I completely agree. We're staying home because I dont want to be driving around and worrying about everyone else on the road.

Re: Opinion
I do not want to drive from Port Jefferson to East Islip for a New Years Eve party, so I do not blame you. DH and I are at odds over it.

Re: Opinion
We're going to a house party at my Father In Law's and it is usually well over 150 people and I'm nervous about being in that big of a crowd with my belly now protruding as much as it is. I can't imagine being in Manhattan on NYE! You're a brave girl!

Re: Opinion
I've had 2 different New Year's invites, one of which was less than 10 miles away and turned down both. I want to stay home and relax.

Re: Opinion
I don't blame you! We were invited to 2 parties and we declined both. We will be spending a quiet evening at home this New Year's Eve!
