12w appt and why I hate fetal dopplers

12 week appt: Went very well!
Baby V is muy feisty (that's the PR side)
I'm measuring 12w4d.
I've only gained 3lb.

Why I hate Fetal Dopplers:
They suk. Don't get one. Don't make yourself crazy. It took the nurse (A trained professional) 5 minutes to find nothing. It made me absolutely crazy. Just to have the doctor come in and give me a transabdominal sono and see that everything is aok.

Those of you contemplating renting one. Save yourself the grief and let the doctor do it.

Yeah, our OB told us the same thing. It's not worth the money or stress when you can't find it.

Each week I try using a stethascope when I am home and I can't find anything either.

Bumping for those contemplating FDs.

I just wanted to add, this is my first pregnancy. I can completely empathize with those of you who have had mc's and are looking for piece of mind. Please make sure you are well-educated on using the machine.

I will agree with the fetal doppler. I got one and actually picked up a skipped heartbeat. It made me a nervous wreck. My doctor confirmed my findings and sent me for a fetal echo, turned out they are super common in utero. My DD also hated the waves so much she would kick it off of my belly. Next pregnancy I will not be renting one.
