That's awful! I would NOT have your brother go alone. I would not even go at all, but if he is dead set on going, please have him go with a few other people.

Yikes- I would call the cops, explain the situation and ask them what to do. At least there will be a report about it, I would also call the carrier and tell them whats going on. Who knows if who ever has it is called Guam and then your brother will have to fight those charges. good luck and do NOT let him go alone or at all.

i once i found a cell phone and i called the last number and it was the guy's girlfriend who answered, he met me and i gave it to him, i would never ask for money.

I'm so angry but I need to get the opinion of a larger audience..
My younger brother is home from college and lost his cell phone yesterday..He calls the phone and the azz tells him if he wants it back to meet him and bring $30. He wants it back, all his contacts ,etc,etc and hes going to get it. I didnt want him to go especially alone because I didnt trust this "good samaritan". I think if he was jerk enough to hold the phone ransom my brother could be going into a potentially dangerous situation..
Am I being a overprotective big sister?
Would you demand money ( I know it wasnt a lot)if you found something ?
I really need to know what others think
WTH!?!?! Who does that? My ex lost his phone and the person got it back to him by calling the first person in the address book. I convinced him to send a gift basket.
I also know of someone who returned a blackberry she found in a taxi and they sent her a bottle of wine.
A good samaritan does not ask for cash
