there are good and bad areas in many neighborhoods but she was asking about Elmont specifically and as a whole, it isnt that great of an area..

HAHA I wonder if it is Froggy. Anyway, no one said anything about the skin color of the residents of elmont, and no one cares about that. I don't know about you, but I am not a racist Queen D. For your first post, I find it odd that you make a negative comment...It does sound like something that Froggy would do or someone just posting here to stir up trouble. Elmont is not a good area because of its high level of crime that has been getting bigger each year. I know of people that lived there, and have moved for that reason.
There are good and bad areas of everytown, and some towns have more bad areas then good areas, and that is where Elmont comes in.....But it has nothing to do with the race of people or the nationality of people that live there. I cannot believe that you would post something like that.

My FH teaches in Elmont.
He's taught in Covert Ave School (his favorite, and what he calls the "safest" - North Elmont), Dutch-Broadway (encompasses Valley Stream area), Clara Carlson, Gotham Ave, and Stewart Manor.
In Clara Carlson elem school, he had a 6th grader (WHITE, mind you) bring a knife to school. In Gotham Ave and Dutch-Broadway, his class was 90% ESL.
In the Elmont school district, kids are bussed in from Elmont, Valley stream, Franklin Sq, Garden City, Floral Park, SOME NHP, and even some Hempstead.
REGARDLESS OF RACE, it is a diverse area, IN THE SENSE OF INCOME.

Howard Beach is predominantly white and riddled with all types of criminal entities, but it has still been boasted as a wonderful area.
