Re: fibromyalygia
I have condromylagia, I know I spelled it wrong. But I can always tell when it is going to rain or snow. At least you know when to bring your umbrella and you don't have to rely on the meterologist. It does not bother me too much, just when it is raining heavily.

My MIL has it... she gets massages regularly and goes to a chiropractor twice a week. I'm not sure what else she does.

Re: fibromyalygia
I have fibromyalgia.
Fortunately I have been doing really well for most of the last 2 years
I had a lot of complications since I was in 2 car accidents so I have disc problems but after the second accident (which was relatively minor) I knew something was wrong..I was not getting better and I had so much pain and fatigue and muscle spasm (I couldn't walk for months and had to take off a year of school). We went through epstein barr (which I have.had), lyme disease (which they said I had, but then said I didn't have,..odd), etc before we pieced together that it was fibromyalgia and in my case it makes a lot of sense. For me the #1 thing I have to do to make sure I stay healthy and pain-free is to get enough sleep. That's the biggest factor for me. Of course one huge symptom of fibromyalgia is insomnia and sleep disturbance, so at my doctors urging I took melatonin every night for a few months and that got me on a decent sleep schedule. if I have too much stress and/or not enough sleep I will really be in debilitating pain. There are a lot of different theories about how fibromyalgia works, and one of them is that people with fibromyalgia are very reactive to stress. I think this is very true in my case. Stress makes my body just start to shut down and hurt.
The weather only really bothers me in terms of my disc problems but it can worsen some of the muscle pain I have . They just approved a new drug for fibromyalgia. I;m just thankful I don't need to try it because sleep and stress management have worked wonders for me. Also when i was having a lot of problems I used accupuncture and it really helped. Hope you feel better

Re: fibromyalygia
My mom has this. She swears by the holistic (sp) route, Seems to maintain it somewhat.. She takes primrose oil & sharks pills , or something to that nature to subdue it.. She has had it for a few years now & at first she couldnt walk 20 feet without being in pain, since she takes all the herbal stuff she is 80% better ,,
