i alwasy wondered about the places he mentions in scenes form an italian resturant.I heard the Village Green that he sings about is an actuall place(i think thats what he says)

it is , the Village Green is in Levittown,,

My cousin swears she knows the person Only the Good Die Young was written about. Anytime it comes on she always tells me how she knows the Virginia he is singing about. I always thought he picked the name Virginia because it was close to the word virgin and that went with the whole "don't let me wait" theme of the song....but I do humor my cousin when this story is told.
She did exist. She went to Holy Trinity HS and was on the kickline team. They dated briefly when he was at Hicksville High School
The Village Green still exists today. Its right next to holy Trinity on Newbridge road. The Shopping center is called the Village Green and their is a small park in the back

I saw on "behind the music" that she finally divulged the name... It was auctioned off. Warren Beatty won the auction which cost him some crazy amount in the millions (I forgot the specific amount) and now he knows who the song is about. The catch, however, was that he had to sign a gag order so he could never divulge who the song is about.
She's also give two letters in the name of the person but they're so common no one has been able to figure out the name...

Seriously? My mom taught at Holy Trinity for YEARS!  (Trying to figure out how old Billy Joel is, though...)
