I hate to admit it but I am not nearly as informed as I wish I was. Is there a website or some place that pulls together unbiased information about the open offices and the candidates?? There should be...

This is the first time I will be voting in Nassau County, where I also work so I really wish I knew more than I do.

So be honest...how many of you just vote for whoever "sounds" good.

If you are completely uninformed about the candidates do you just vote with your party or do you not vote for that seat/office at all?

Re: Will you be an informed voter tomorrow?

I do all my research on the candidates, but that's my nature. I was a political science major in college and I take the privilege of voting VERY seriously.

As for my votes, I will be voting for all NYC incumbents. I am very happy with the way the city is being run so IMO, why change it?

In yesterday's Newsday was their voting guide, which is usually put together by the League of Women Voters, who tend to be unbiased IMO. I don't go by the articles Newsday writes, I don't feel that they are unbiased.

What I hate is being negatively informed.... ie: I hate candidate A, so I'm voting for candidate B (even though I know nothing about them, and could turn out to hate them more)
I'll just be glad not to get tons of campaign material in my mailbox, or to see the ads on TV. I'll vote to get rid of those things!

I had the Leauge of women voters guide for my area last year. I found it helpful. I am not as informed as I'd like to be. I just know who has commercials on tv, basically. Chat Icon I am trying to "cram" tonight.

Last year for judges, I voted alternating parties, b/c I really dont' know how to vote for a judge.

I feel that way too- im always stumped by the judges, and dont feel like i know enough about them.

as far as the other candidates, i dont know the extreme specifics, but their majors platforms, etc... So i think i have a solid enough foundation to consider my vote a well thought out one.

I just wish i lived in Brooklyn so that i'd be able to vote for my Mom--- she's my favorite Candidate Chat Icon Chat Icon

What is she running for?

Her is the League of Women's Voters page where you can pick your area & see who is on the ballott.

I think it is sad that my Town Supervisor is running unopposed. I guess I vote for him?
And our County excutive is a mess, but the other guy's platform is pretty much " He s ucks & I'm not him"

I hate that.

City Council Chat Icon (Im really praying that she gets it- im just frustrated that i cant even vote for her Chat Icon )

Thank you for the link!!! The judges scare me the most- i feel like theyre such important figures (especially since they deal so directly with the public)- yet we're never really informed, to the extent that we should be, imo

I overheard a judge who was campaigning at my train station saying to soemone that judges can't campaign on issues, so you just have to get out there & hope people read your brochures & vote based on your experience.

Good luck to your mom!
