Bellini Buyers....Questions

DH and I have decided to buy Bellini and I have a few questions....

1. Did you get the attachable shelf for changing diapers. I am wondering if it is work the $300.

2. Did you buy the mattress with them - if yes - which one. If not - where did you buy yours?

3. They told me that it takes about 12-14 weeks for delivery. I know I am cutting it close with my due date in March. what have you experienced with the delivery - are they really running 12-14 weeks?

4. Were you able to negotiate on price? We are thinking of buying 2 pieces and the crib. The saleswoman said she woudl give us 15% off on teh highest priced piece. I was wondering if anyone was able to negotiate anything better.

I am planning on going tonight to order and any help/direction you can give me would be great. Thanksl!

Re: Bellini Buyers....Questions

ok...here goes...

we didnt get the top piece becaus ei am short and it made it too high....cool option though but you dint have to roedr it you can just get it whehj you want it....

we did not get the mattress even though they tried to tell us we needed it, we got serta perfect from BRU and its great!!! was 159 but they have a few cheaper ones...

they told us to call when we want it, they make it seem like they have to make it but most of them are ready to be shipped...

we bought 2 pieces and wreer able to get 20 percent off...

also-when it came the top of the changing table had a funnny fifnish on each corner from shipping...the styrafoam actually buffs the corners as it ships....they send a guy over and he fixed it no problem,....i love the furniture!!! hope this helps

No, we didn't get this. I did not like the visible white metal - it was very industrial looking on top of such beautiful furniture. We just registered for the regular old changing pad that will go on top.

2. Did you buy the mattress with them - if yes - which one. If not - where did you buy yours?

No, I found their prices to be outrageous ($200 for an infant mattress?!?!). We registered for a $110 one at BRU.

3. They told me that it takes about 12-14 weeks for delivery. I know I am cutting it close with my due date in March. what have you experienced with the delivery - are they really running 12-14 weeks?

I only ordered a couple of weeks ago and I'm due about a month ahead of you and they didn't mention it would be an issue at all.

4. Were you able to negotiate on price? We are thinking of buying 2 pieces and the crib. The saleswoman said she woudl give us 15% off on teh highest priced piece. I was wondering if anyone was able to negotiate anything better.

I hit the end of a 20% off sale. So, if there is no sale I think 15% off is a pretty good deal.

------------------------------------------------
1. Did you get the attachable shelf for changing diapers. I am wondering if it is work the $300.
-------------------------------------------------
We got the HI-Changing table, which is a bit thinner than the regular changing table, and it comes with shelves. Later, it converts to a dresser with shelves. For us it fit best in our small nursery.

-------------------------------------------------
2. Did you buy the mattress with them - if yes - which one. If not - where did you buy yours?
-------------------------------------------------
We did. It was Colgate mattress, foam, just like the one we wanted and was recommended in Baby Bargains. We knew we wanted Foam because it was lighter, and figured we'd pay the delivery charge once. Also, it was just easier for it to come all together.

3. They told me that it takes about 12-14 weeks for delivery. I know I am cutting it close with my due date in March. what have you experienced with the delivery - are they really running 12-14 weeks?
-------------------------------------------------
That is what they told us and that is not true!
Once we ordered it, they were able to deliver it within 4 weeks - and were even able to do it earlier but we didn't want it that early. We basically ordered it in the begining of Sept and got it by 25th.

-------------------------------------------------
4. Were you able to negotiate on price? We are thinking of buying 2 pieces and the crib. The saleswoman said she woudl give us 15% off on teh highest priced piece. I was wondering if anyone was able to negotiate anything better.
-------------------------------------------------
We were not - but neither I nor DH are good at things like that.

Re: Bellini Buyers....Questions

FYI, I was there yesterday and was told it I got my order in by Tuesday (when their 20% off sale ends), it would take 3-4months for the furniture to come in. Chat Icon

Re: Bellini Buyers....Questions

I have my furniture from Bellini as well. I do have the changing top but I borrowed it from my sister in law. If she didn't have it though, I would have bought it - it's very convienent and I like changing her with her facing me instead of on the side.

We did buy the mattress from them - I think when we bought it, they were having a sale for a free mattress. Again, if they didn't have it, I still would have bought it from them - just easier for it all to come together.

We actually had an issue with out set because it was discontinued but yes, they really do take that long!

I think we got about 20% off our whole order and the free mattress. I don't know if they offer more than that.

Which set are you ordering?

Thanks girls. The crib that I am looking at is the Bella crib (DH is getting a kick out our son sleeping in a crib called "Bella" Chat Icon ). We like the Jessica 5 drawer dresser and the Jessica 54" dresser. We have a double closet in the bedroom so we need drawer space.

Now I am annoyed - they didn't tell me about a 20% off sale (I live in NJ). Do you think I should push for the 20% off?........20% adds up!!!!

Where in NJ are you? I am in NJ too and ordered mine from Short Hills but it's the same owner as the one in Manalapan.

1. Did you get the attachable shelf for changing diapers. I am wondering if it is work the $300.

We didn't get this piece. I didn't think it was worth it.

2. Did you buy the mattress with them - if yes - which one. If not - where did you buy yours?

We bought the higher end matress...it was close to $200, so it would last thru 2 babies.

3. They told me that it takes about 12-14 weeks for delivery. I know I am cutting it close with my due date in March. what have you experienced with the delivery - are they really running 12-14 weeks?

Ours was delivered in 3.5 months...I'm sure they can work with you.

4. Were you able to negotiate on price? We are thinking of buying 2 pieces and the crib. The saleswoman said she woudl give us 15% off on teh highest priced piece. I was wondering if anyone was able to negotiate anything better.

We got 20% off each piece, but I bought mine in Staten Island.
