Sidney is sick

She has woken up 3x since I put her to bed at 7pm and her nose is getting stuffier and stuffier. She caught this from me Last night I couldn't breath at all thru my nose. She is 4 months old...she knows she can breath thru her mouth right???? Hasn't affected her eating yet thankfully. She also has a dry cough. Of course all this started happening at night so I haven't called the Dr. What can I do for her???? Tyelenol??? anything? I feel so bad for her.

Try the Saline nose drops to help with her congestion and run a humdifier when she is sleeping. The steam is good for her and will help open her up.

yes, the saline nose drops and then suction her. you can also put a few drops of breast milk in her nose, it will help w/ the conjestion and is good for immunity.
I also use to gve the kids a warm bath and then splash her a little so a little bit of warm water goes up her nose, this will help clear her out. hang in there dree, like you haven't had enough on your plate, huh?!

another thing asid from the saline drops when you give her a warm bath t hey have the johnson and johnson vapor bath which will help as well also what I did and still do with marissa I take a pillow and put it under the mattress to elevate her head and it will help her breath better through her nose also the cool mist humidifier is good I also took a little vicks and would put it on marissa's chest to help

Thanks for all the ideas and well wishes.
Just got back from Dr. She said sidney will probably get worse before she gets better...SCARY. She wakes up and looks all confused as to why she can't breath. DH is finally home (he was gone all week) and he is going out to buy the humidifier. Dr. said if it gets so bad that sidney can't eat cause she can't breathe thru her nose I can give Pedialyte or Dimatap(sp?) She only took 2 twenty minute naps today (she's 10 minutes into a 3rd) and only got about 6 hrs of sleep last night - all broken up. How is she (and Mommy) supposed to get better without rest

Oh and another question....when she wakes up at night I try everything under the sun to get her to calm down and go back to sleep but all she wants to do is nurse. And since she got up 7 times last night she nursed 7x. Today she is pooping and tooting up a storm. Any suggestions as to how to settle her back down or is it ok to just nurse her till she is 100 lbs

It's always scary when they get sick - but especially scary when it's one of the first times.

Nursing will help her in terms of giving her the help she needs to fight it. The humidifier should help her stuffy nose out - heat is NOT good. I would turn down your heat at night - dress her in layers. If she has a hard time sleeping - you can get try letting her sleep in her car seat or bouncy seat strapped in. Also when you feed her - do it in as much of an upright position as you can.

And most of all- hang in there - this is one cold when she's done fighting that she'll have immunity built up.
