Aw, Don, I'm sorry you didn't know there is a Vinaigrette and a Vinegar. I could easily see how the two could be confused. I have to empathize as I know DH would make the same error.
But look at the bright side, you'll never make that mistake again!

after dodging traffic and dealing with all sorts of detours because the main avenue was being used for a columbus day parade - and dealing with a long line in the store, carrying 10 big bags of groceries and putting them away - she knew better than to tell me to go back
hmmm...Boosh...Don needs some more training...

Trust me this wasnt a 'big' an issue. WE laughed about it more than anything and it got me out of cooking dinner, which was my goal anyway

My take on the difference is
There is Balsamic Vinegar.
and if you wanted little Balsamics, you'd get the vinaigrette.

we went out because we misread the recipe where it said the marinade had to sit for 2 hours
