This has to stop.
Yes, yes it does. Especially if this isn't the first time it happened.
FM me if you need to talk or vent.

This would be a dealbreaker for me. If it doesn't stop at 41, then when? When you have a baby at home and he kills himself and you're left to raise your child by yourself?
You need to sit him down and have a long, serious talk with him. Perhaps an ultimatum. If he does it again, I would leave the house and not come back until he has done something to demonstrate to you that it will never happen again.

I don't know, but there's no talking to them when they are like this. After, he knows it's wrong and he apologizes..
He's 41 years old! When is he going to learn?!!
It won't stop and he won't learn until he has suffered a consequence. He may not BE the person in the accident, it may be a friend or family member, but until you have experienced a devastating event, you think you are invincible and drunk driving only happens to "losers" who are habitual drinkers. You need to educate him.

I absolutely have no words.
He's 41 years old?
That's nice... my mother was KILLED by a drunk driver at age 38 when I was 8... one year older than I am right now. Ripped from my family, ripped from my father's life, ripped from my brother and myself. Senselessly, VIOLENTLY!!
The cause of death on her death certificate is... SEVERE HEAD TRAMA from being thrown clear across the road... she was a pedestrian.
I will never, ever forget that night. I will never, ever forget finding her death certificate when emptying out my father's safe deposit box.
Stories like this make EVERY CELL in my body BOIL
There is no excuse, EVER, EVER, EVER.
I am completely shaking right now especially at that fact that these "men" have done it repeatedly. They have no regard for their life or others.
Some may say I'm being harsh but they are playing Russian roulette.

I'm considering taking his name off of our joint assets. He still insists that he wasn't drunk. Come on I wasn't born yesterday. You've been out all night...drinking coffee?

I totally agree - I am sorry I would NOT tolerate this at all. He has no idea how you were sitting home worrying about him, his friend and the lives of everyone else out there that he could have hurt; and to curse at you and hang up on you is unforgivable. I am sorry but why would you let him talk to you like that?! I know he was drunk and probably did not know that he was hurting you, but it would be very hard for me to forgive my DH for that. I hope you can sit him down and talk to him about his actions and that he never does that again!!!

If this has been happening repeatedly, it's not a matter of his willpower, intelligence, or immaturity. It's a disease - a disease that not only affects him, but affects every member of his family. You can't will it away... He may need help.
(I want to say I'm passing NO judgment and don't at all know even close to all the facts... but my guess is that there is an addiction problem here that needs to be dealt with so all can heal)
