Temping
I just started taking my temp each morning with the basil therm. Mon 96.21 Tues 97.3 Wed. 97.2 Thurs 96.1 Are everyones numbers this low?? I'm thinking Tues I ovulated? Not sure since I just started this process but it would make sense timing wise. Thanks!

Re: Temping
Everyone's temps are different...my average temps are in the 97 range.
You will get your temp spike after ovulation - not when you ovulate.

Re: Temping
My temps are that low, or lower. I used to joke that I was waking up dead each morning. Some were in the 95 degree range.
Do you use Fertility Friend or MyMonthlyCycles? They chart them for you and you can see where you ovulated. I find it very helpful.

Re: Temping
Yeah, mine were super low all the tim, I thought my thermometer was broken. Definately use a charting website, it makes everything a lot easier to figure out

Re: Temping
My baseline is 97.6 the past 3 days my temps have been 98.4 so I am .4 degrees higher than the baseline. That is how TCOYF does it. It has to be at least a .4 increase. Are you taking it the same time undisturbed"?? Good luck!

Re: Temping
Can someone explain how temping works? How does it help you to know that you already ovulated, wouldn't you want to know when you are going to ovulate so you can plan to BD that day and after?
Thanks!

Good question! I actually asked the same one when I first started temping...
You need to temp everymorning BEFORE YOUR RISE FROM BED IS BEST, AND also... Try to do it within the same 1/2 hour ever morning... its hard... but its def more acurate.
To answer your question, temping helps you learn your cycle, like I never knew that I ovulated so late... around CD20... and I have charted for 3 monts so far, and every month is CD20... so you need to chart for at least 3 months to start seeing the pattern of when you Ovulate, then you will get a better understanding of your cycle and when you ovualte.
Also... there arer of course OPK's which will tell you before your LH Surge.
Regarding the 1st poster's question... I don't think you have enough of a spike to have ovulated, and usually (not always) your temp won't go back down to the temp range before you ovulated until you get AF. Just as an example.. before I ovualte my temps are around 96.9-97.6 average... after I ovulate my temps so far this month are not lower then 98.2. Also I use a BBT which is supposedly more accurate then a baisc thermomater.
GOOD LUCK TTC!
