Even though you've been married awhile...
are there still some people in DH's family (not close relatives...more like family you don't see often) whose names you seem to have a mental block against?! Ooohh; this happened to me today. And my mom was with me and I wanted to introduce her but I have this way of forgetting a few relatives' names and it's awful; or knowing the name, but then doubting myself and clamming up! Anyone else?!

I get names mixed up....like DH's 2 cousins look very similar and names are kind of similar and I never remember who is who

Ummmm DH has a huge family. And he is very close with his mom's entire side. I know all first names and there are two who recently married and not so close that i have no clue their last name.
As far as his dad's side, I don't know who 80% of them are but it never seems to be a problem since we see them less then once a year.

Definitely. DH is half Greek and his dad's side of the family are all off the boat. I get them all confused. There are too many Markellas and Stellas to keep them all straight. They all have the same last names and aren't even related! I was soooo confused when one of his cousins married another cousin and he swears they're not related!

DH's family is tiny, but definately within my own family. My maternal grandfather had a falling out with all of his siblings but 1, so whenever we see that part of the family at parties or wakes I have no clue what anyone's name or connection to me is. We weren't that close to my dad's side growing up, so outside of my dad's siblings and their families again I'm clueless most of the time as to my connection to them.

Yes, there are still people after 10 yrs that I haven't even met.And it doens't help the DH family make up names for everyone, so I will meet "Bob" at one function and then at the next "Bob" is now "mike" they like to give multiple name for everyone. Another reason I drink A LOT at DH family functions.

Ohhh how I hate this!!!! Usually I'm saved by DH who is quick with names (even of those people whom we've only met once) but if I'm by myself, I totally freak!
