Apprisal fees?
Is $400 the normal price for an appraisal fee for a coop? The bank told me $300 but I just got off the phone with the appraiser and he says $400. I've never done this before so I'm not sure. TIA!

I've had 275 if the bank ordered it and up to 350 elsewhere. Seems like its not too far off... but could be cheaper, in my experience.

I don't charge more for a co-op than for a house appraisal (unless the mgmt co charges me - see below), but it doesn't surprise me that other appraisers do. Co-op appraisals are ANNOYING, and we've often discussed raising our co-op fee.
We have to beg and plead with the co-op management company to get the required financial data we need for the appraisal and that can hold up the process for days, sometimes weeks! They often they charge a fee for that info also. If they charge, the fee is passed on to the buyer/borrower.
($350 is our standard fee)
