Tia, may I ask what is your price range? And how large are you looking for?

Re: polaroid lcd
amazon is hard because of the return ploicy or lack there of for tv's...
i would personally stay away from polaroid... you can spend 1000 on a vizio lcd and get your best bang for your buck. Vizio could be found at wholesale ware house places...

All HDTV's in general don't produce SD (Standard Defination) channels as well, you get use to it. Vizio is the number 1 in qantity of units sold becase of its cost vs features.
Yes, you can get an amazing picture from a sony or sharp for 2-3k but for most people that just want a "good" picture, you can save some money and buy a polaroid or another lesser name brand.
Prices have come down so you can go a good name brand (if that matters to you) at a good price.
I own both plasmas and lcd's Plamsa = Maxent a.k.a. Panosonic LCD = Philips and view sonic
all for a good deal of savings..

1080 is overrated know unless you have blu-ray or hd-dvd and still the picture is not worth paying that difference (imo)
I have a PS3 and watch Blu Ray movies and download stuff via the PSStore and not found a great deal of difference then 1080i....

Right now that's so true but we have a year and a half when we will start seeing 1080i none compressed cable TV and Satellite signals. I wonder if you had a chance to see Voom satellite. It never took off so they went out of business. Now the picture on Voom was amazing. It's not the same on Cablevision.
Have you noticed all the 720p being discounted or discontinued lately. Making room from all those new 1080p TV's.
By the way. I have a HD DVD and Blu-ray online business.

You sell movies online? Prehaps you can FM info if you get a chance.
Well, it doesn't make sense to only sell 720p sets so it does make sense.
DOes voom offer more channels? I know CV just picked up 11 channels or so off the Vooom network. I like the footage from HDNews. The Rave music channel is cool from time to time. 1080p will become stardard soon but i'm waying for prices to come way down plus with the format wars getting bigger when you think it would die, i'm very tempted to get an HD-DVD add on for my XBOX. I think 1080i is amazing. I seen 1080p in sears on a perfectly tuned tv (the majority of tv's in stores or not set with brightness,etc..) on ICE Age 2. I forget the TV but it was really high end.
Back to the signals...I curious to see what CV has up its bag as I hear that don't have enough bandwidth to keep up with the demand for higher bit rates streams. This is when VIOS comes in but since i live in a co-op complex, it will never be an option till the very end of people getting installs.

Voom had about 40 HD Channels. All the movies channels like HBO, SHO Cinamax The Movie Channel etc. The PQ was amazing but I think they came out to soon. If they came out now I think it may have worked.
I'm just waiting for FIOS. I hear it's coming soon to the Holbrook area. I live in a apartment complex that was pre-wired for it during contraction...
