LCD TV's Or Whatever.
How great are they...really???
DH is on s spree to find one and I hate electronics.   Are they really that great????? Be honest. Maybe I can stop him before it's too late.

We have a Plasma in our LR and a LCD in our BR and I love them both. The picture is unreal.

ok, I did not want this answer! 
I'm just scared about it getting messed up and since it's pretty new technology...I don't know. I don't see the point of spending all that money on a TV!

it's not really that new. it's been out for several yrs. and IMO, there have been MANY improvements, not to mention the prices going wayyyyyyyyyyyy down!

We have a 50 inch and I love it!!!! I feel like I can't watch a regular TV now. BUT, they are a pain in terms of the lamp. Ours broke already. Easy to fix, but it was still under warranty. All the new TV's have one problem or another that you're going to run into. So no matter what type you buy, eventually there will be problems. But it is awesome to have!!

I agree!! They are dirt cheap compared to how much I spent when they first came out! we have several LCDs in our home and I will never go back to a regular bulky tv again!

plamsa's have come way down in price since the beginning...
we have a "cheapier" plamsa in the living room and it was the best thing that happen.
we have a lcd in the bedroom and it save so much space.
keep in mind, tv is only as good as the shows you watch. HD Channels include some movie channels, local channels and couple of special channels. other then that, the show looks a little less quality compared to a regular tv because of the signal the lcd or plamsa is trying to convert it.
how much were you looking to spend?

Ok, I"m so pi$$ed dh just spent $1500 on a freaking LCD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear I just don't get it.

This just made me laugh!!!!!  Thanks. Maybe ebcause I don't get thw whole Tv thing. Whatever. I hope it doesn't get messed up in a year or two and then I'll be @$$ed out.

We have a 52" LCD Hi-Def TV and we both love it. I actually wanted it more than DH did.
Check out pricegrabber.com it shows you the best deals around, we saved some $ ordering through this site vs. a store.
ETA: sorry didnt realize he bought one already.
