when you start temping do you have to start on the first day of your period...

Most info I have read suggests you do only because you can detect the pattern of your temps. If you have already passed your period, I'm sure you could start later, just maybe start it at your period next cycle.

Don't you chart your AF, but only temp once its finished?
This is my first month of charting, so I could be wrong.

I read you don't have to temp during AF because your temps can be irratic. Once AF stops, start temping. You must chart that you have you AF though.

I temp every day no matter what. It's a routine now. I think if I didn't do it every day, even during AF, it would mess me up.
Besides, my temps during AF haven't been all that erratic anyway.
